Recently, I’ve wanted to start learning Blender for 3D animation and modeling. I was intimidated at first, as Blender is a very, very feature-full application, so I wanted to focus just on making a basic 3D model first. There’s one tutorial on YouTube by the channel Blender Guru that walks you through how to make a donut. It’s ubiquitous in the Blender community, and practically every Blender animator has made at least one donut. It even made its way into Everything, Everywhere, All at Once, even though it was called a bagel instead of a donut. After a few attempts, I got my donut to look realistic yet stylized, and even added a few lighting effects.
